Let me tell you a little about what i do .....
• While doing my undergraduate in Business computing, I worked as a provider of casual support for IT-related issues on a referral basis which earned me my first award from multiTech. This convinced me to pursue my post-graduate in information systems from the University Of Cape Town (UCT).
• On completing my post-graduate, I won one team award and an individual award from UCT. One in systems design for developing an employee management system for coronation fund managers and a research award for diligence in the field of research.
• After a successful and rewarding academic experience at the University of Cape Town, I secured a contract with Mest Africa , one of the biggest and most competitive incubator organizations for tech start-ups on the continent, working as a tech lead for three start-up companies. My role included overseeing, designing, and developing systems for various software-driven businesses. One of which was eventually launched as Shopa (an e-commerce platform for provision shop owners in Ghana) and the other was a block chain land verification system for the Nigerian real estate industry. At the end of my contract, I was recognized and awarded a software entrepreneurship award. This experience enhanced my interest in programming and learning in general.
• Over the years, I have gained sufficient experience in planning, prototyping, and developing software, systems, and websites. I later returned to Cape Town to work as a software Engineer for Code Infinity. before moving on to work for The Work Crowd , a company based in the United Kingdom.
• As a software developer, I have a strong desire to use tech for the betterment of society. For instance, my recent engagement is in the area of agro tech via the farmConnectPlus and the Afrixyz App. This app is a product of the i-Upshift innovation competitions organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) , Kingdom of the Netherlands , Unicef and implemented by Wezesha Impact. Over 100 teams took part and we emerged among the top 10 groups that worn (got funded). This app is intended to reduce costs for rural farmers and improve the farming process by providing timely crucial information such as seed quality, best practices, disease detection via AI, and more.
• In short, I have won more than 3 tech awards from three different countries. I have sufficient
experience in this area and am confident to handle even complex projects.
